Young Again

Dr. Heidegger's Experiment by Nathaniel Hawthorne introduces the idea of the Fountain of Youth. Mr. Medbourne, Colonel Killigrew, and Mr. Gascoigne, and Widow Wycherly, all a part of the experiment, chose to make the same mistakes after drinking the youthful water. All four people got to chose how they wanted to spend their short youthful moment. They chose to make the same mistakes and waste their precious time. If I was 80ish and got a chance to be young again, I would like to do the things that I never had the chance to or just miss doing. More specifically, if I turned old to young for 1 week, I would not waste my time making the same mistakes, but create more memories and relive the idea of being youthful through positive experiences.

Starting off, on Sunday, the first day I turn young, I would do all the things I could not have done at such an old age. For example, I would eat rock hard food, like peanut brittle, I could not have been able to eat peanut brittle at age 80. Then, I would run around everywhere super fast and feel victorious for running at a great speed. After experiencing my new and young age, I plan to go to Six Flags and ride and all the speedy rides for the rest of the day.

Then on Monday and Tuesday, I will take sky diving lessons and sky dive. I am absolutely positive I would never sky dive my first time being young, but if I received a chance at being young again, I will sky dive no matter what because it will feel awesome being able to "fly" in the sky after being old for so long. Sky diving would be symbolic to freedom: the freedom to walk without pains or canes.

After sky diving, I hope to travel to South America and tour the rain forests and view the beautiful nature within South America for the next four days. I believe I would be so free being able to walk endlessly around outdoors and see the unique animals and plants that surround nature.

On my last day, Sunday, I would like to journal about my one week full of crazy experiences and take in this wonderful opportunity I had. I imagine Sunday being my day to let everything sink in and a chance to prepare myself for my old age once again.

I just try and live my life with no regrets so that when i'm old i look back and am satisfied with what i did with my life

im happy about every mistake i have made because thay have made me who i am now. Yeah, the happiness comes after the temporary regret but in the long run it actually helps.

I hope that by the time im 80 i won't have too many things i regret not doing in my youth.

Life flows forward. By the time I'm 80 I would be so damned proud of my accomplishments that I wouldn't want to be any other age.
