We’re Alive on May 22... So Who's Ready for 2012?

Through history there have been numerous theories on when the world will end including the most recent, May 21, 2011. We’ve survived to the twenty-third, so what’s to say about this over the top 2012 business? Why does that particular day stand out from all the others, as the last day on earth? I figured I should try to find out.

Astrologically, December 21st is the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican calendar. Religiously, the date of which the 2012 phenomenon is seen repeated extensively in the torah and bible, all hidden in codes and patterns scientists have discovered. Also, Mayan calendars predict “the day of impending doom” and end abruptly on the day. All the signs point to an un-avoidable death right before Christmas, but no one has evidence to back the theory up. The apocalypse idea seems to be just that, an idea. One ancient scholar passed down his idea to another, and on it spread like wildfire, lasting all the way to the current generation. While no one knows how truly accurate that was.

So now I ask, what will you be doing on the “last day on earth?” Some will chose to spend it with their family, cherishing the last minutes, others off on spiritual journeys attempting to finish off their bucket lists while there’s time. Some strong believers may even chose to end their own life before the universe does it for them. And in the contrary, what will you be doing if you wake up on Dec. 22, alive as always. Take on a new outlook on life maybe? Let me know what you think about the 2012 phenomenon.

I feel that all this talk about the world ending is just an other thing to give people news to look forward to. of course our world is not in the best condition, but if the world were to end we would see drastic changes and more scientific fact about it.

I personally don't think the world will end in 2012, there have been plenty of scientists that have proven it wrong. I think it is just something for people to get hyped up about. Some people are really good at scaring themselves in to thinking things and I think those are the people that believe the world will end in 2012.

I dont know what to think about this. I mean I really dont think the world is going to end just because the Mayans calendar ends then. I mean maybe if there was more hard core proof I would believe it, but until that happens, I think I'm pretty safe.

snora the world is not going to end in 2012. there has been so much crap about the world ending, and guys were all still here. so 2012 is just there to scare people into thinking were going to die, when i reality were all going to be here. the theories are pretty cool though..

i think this whole end of the world thing is stupid. its not going to end. just because someone predicts its going to end doesnt mean its going to. we lived through may 22nd so i think we'll live through december 21st.

I really don't think any of this "end of the world stuff" is true, but  I mean, how do we know for sure? It is a fact that it is going to end someday, so why not now? I think that would completely suck but i guess if it happened to everyone at the same time, it wouldn't matter right. It's kind of a weird thing to think about. I just wish we knew for certain because I would for sure make some different choices knowing that all my high school hard work was worthless. That would kind of bum me out.

I really don't believe any of this stuff. There have been so many rumors going around and so many different dates on when the world is supposed to end that its really hard to believe. I honestly think its just a coincidence.

I think that the whole 2012 thing is really fake. There are so many different rumors about what's supposed to happen on 12/21/12 and it's hard to know which rumor I'm supposed to believe, if any at all. It'll be interesting to see how everyone acts a couple days before though.

yeah I don't believe that the world is going to end in 2012. Its an interesting theory but I think that the mayans just wanted to stop their calender because that had to stop it at some point right?

all of this hype is so stupid, we obviously lived through the other ones and i think we will do the same for 2012. its just an excuses for someone to get their 15 minutes of fame.

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
