This is my last ning blog and I cannot think of what to write. Or should I say type? Before American Studies I have never even written or read a blog before. So I wanted to know: What is a blog? So I looked it up and found out that a blog is a combination of the word web and log. Which means you can type whatever your heart desires in the blog. It can be anything, its basically and online, public diary or journal.. Our blogs have to be a minimum of two paragraphs, have tags, have a web link, and/or a video. That sounds pretty easy to do. All my past blogs have been really super duper long and this time it will be short and simple.
My last two blogs where about music. One was Techno and another was a sub-genre called Dubstep. My inspirations for these blogs were the fact that I love music. This time my inspiration was the assignment itself. I had to write a blog but I didn't know what about so I chose blogs. Do you like blogs? Do you like writing them? Do you like the assignment of required blogs? If yes then good, if no then oh well.
Apart from blogs there are vlogs which are video-logs. I have never seen one or made one but I will watch one just so I can find one to show as an example. And here it is:
This video is random and awesome and from a kid in our class and I call him Woody. This was the first vlog I've ever seen, and I am not actually sure if it even is a vlog but I'm saying it is just for the sake of my blog. So what did you think of my last ning blog? Did you like it? Was it pointless? Do I care? Please comment.

Comment by JohnPaulus V Arcangel on June 5, 2011 at 11:16pm Sorry Mr. Anderson, but english is the least favorite of my subjects. I just take it because I have to. But if anything its these blogs I love so much. I love what it does here, and I think some students are a bit oblivious on what it is they do here exactly. Well it does a lot of things, and I still have ning contributions to do, so I won't list them all, but the one of the more important things it does is let the world see how the youth from our culture, our perspective, our American way of life views certain topics. It shows others how different in ideas we can be, but also how united we are.
If that isn't American, well then I think I didn't learn much in this class, and in which case I 'm sorry.

As someone who runs multiple blogs of different kinds, I can tell you that it's sometimes confusing, but it's a great way to vent or just get your ideas out there.
Comment by Aly Glover on April 16, 2011 at 11:08pm I actually think it was creative to do a blog about blogs. Not a lot of people know about them. I, myself, have one that I do sometimes and I find it's a nice way to get things off my chest. I don't really care if no one reads them, it's my way of letting stuff go.
At the beginning of the year, I'll admit, I dreaded having to do a blog post every quarter but after the first one it got so much easier to do. Having it as an assignment just shows how much school has changed. A lot of things are on the internet nowadays.
