So what were you all doing Saturday at 6:00p.m., preparing for rapture? This certainly isn’t the first time we have been told the world is going to end. In our lifetime we have been told the world would end a numerous amount of times like Y2K, or 2000, yet absolutely nothing happened. And I’m sure you have all heard about 2012. There has been so much buzz lately about the end of the world, and the media plays a huge part in people’s fear.
There are books, movies, and even songs about the end of the world. Now even turning on the radio you hear Jay Sean singing “Party like it’s the end of the world” or Brittany Spears singing “Till the World Ends”. There are also so many movies about the end of the world also like “2012” and “the Knowing”. They show how the media interprets how it will happen with huge earthquakes and tsunamis. The media tries to make things seem worse than they are to get people’s attention. They are conveying the message that people should live it up and party. No one really knows when the world will end, for our whole lives we have been hearing that the world will end yet were all still here. You could either choose to live in fear or live life to the fullest.
What do you guys think about the buzz in the media about the end of the world? Was anyone scared on Saturday at 6:00? Do you guys believe that 2012 will happen? Should we live it up or live in fear?
