Happy New Year! Now Here's Your Finals!

Every kid in Fremd hates it. Well probably mostly everyone. We get a nice two week vacation to take a break from learning and when we get back from that break we are hit straight in the face with Finals.

 

I for one believe that our Finals should be the week leading up to Winter Break, so that over that break, us students can really use that time to relax and get away from school. Let's be honest here, how many people really remember what you did in school the week before break? I know the first day back, most of my classes were just spent reviewing what we had learned the Friday before break because everyone had forgotten it.

In my opinion if Finals were over and done with, kids would be better off when they return from Winter Break. Teachers could use that first day to actually teach some new stuff instead of having to reteach what was taught before break started. Sure, teachers can say that we can spend the entire break to study and prepare, but what kid is actually going to do that? I didn't even do any of my homework til the Sunday before school started!

 

Personally, I like what my brother's and sister's colleges do. They have Finals the week before their break starts and then they get a long rest. I think that Fremd should switch to that system instead of the one we have now.

But that's just me.What do you think? Do you like that we get back from break and get Finals thrown at us? Or do you have a different system that you think would work better?

Taking finals before break would really make everything easier, especially remembering everything that was taught in class.  After two weeks off I really can't remember what unit I'm in, not to mention all the information we learned.

I think that finals should be before break with a burning passion.  Maybe if they started school earlier then finals would be before break and then summer vacation would start earlier too.  Well thats how it was where I used to live. I like the chart you have there of final exams even though its a little exaggerated. In the end finals should be before winter break.

I think that it would be more effective to have the finals before break because I don't know about other people but I sure forgot most things over break

I agree with u Alex, having finals before break would probably increase final test scores greatly.  During our two week winter vacation, im pretty sure no one really wants to even think about doing there homework or start to study for finals. It also creates unneeded stress which would be lost if we took our finals before the break.

I agree completely and i think that if we had our finals before break there would be an increase in grades. Honestly what kid, who has any life at all, would stay inside and study for the finals in 4 weeks during winter break? I dont get it but obviously our "Sophisticated" administration sees a reason to continue to have our finals after break.

I couldn't agree more, I think that we should get atleast a week to review with the teachers so we have time to prepare for the tests that could basically determine our grades in the class.

I deffanitly agree Benny! I forgot so much over break, I honestly think i would've gotten a better final grade if we took them before the weeks off.

If we had finals before break, (believe me I'd  love it!) then school would have to start earlier in the year. But then again, it would be let out earlier. Not everyone would want to do that though. Not everyone will be happy in a situation like this.

Having finals before break would be nice, usually i forget what happened in class by the time we get back. I think my scores would improve if it was before break too.

Having finals before break would improve test scores greatly! I always forget what i learned when i get back from break. And then we still have two weeks to learn new material and take tests on them them before we have finals, thats just mean! It's just all around better to have finals before the break.
