Between finals, warm weather, prom, sports, clubs, and summer coming up everyone is antsy to get out of here! Its that time of year when the students start checking out early and the teachers have to lecture us day after day to stay on top of our school work. Although most of us think it's annoying, it's the truth. If you think about it, this semester is a very important one. It's the last set of grades that colleges see before applying. Talk about stress! Then with stressing about prom dates or finishing up a sport, it can be tough! The best thing to do is stay positive and do your best. The worst thing to do is slack off, because schools not quite over yet ! The weather plays a big role in the end of the year "slacking off". No one wants to sit in a classroom when its 80 degrees outside after a long cold winter!
I would say the best thing to do is make yourself focus and think about the future. There's only a few more weeks to battle through and then we are free for summer! This semester is vital for college applications, which are coming up before we know it! Time sure does fly by. Another thing to do is be sure to study for finals. Finals are a big portion of the semester grade and it wouldn't be good to waste all that hard work just because you didn't want to study for one test! My favorite way to study for finals is using notecards and using a white board. It helps to write things out again. For example, I use note cards for studying for American Studies for the greek roots and history facts. I also determine how much to study for one final by my first and second quarter grades in each class. If I have two a's in one class, and 2 b's in another, then I'll study longer for the one with two b's. One way to figure out what classes to study most for is by looking at the
grade conversion chart. This chart allows you to look at your first and second quarter grades and see what you will get for the semester if you get an a, b, c, d, or f on your final. It's a very helpful tool! Summer will come soon enough everyone so make sure you don't check out too early! Please comment and tell me your opinion on all this craziness!
