It would be obvious to say that movies really changed along the years, but what surprises me is how much they changed and improved in not that much time. I had never thought
of this until we saw The Grapes of Wrath in American Studies. I got
surprised by how good the quality of the movie was. It had the
condition of any movie that we can watch today just without the
color. Did you guys notice? I mean, I thought that all black and
white movies were hard to watch because they were blurry and had
really bad definition, but this one didn't.

I thought it would look kind of like this:

It is probably because I never watched more than two black and white movies in my life, but it kind of shocked me. I was expecting something completely different.

I'm sure we all know the innovations that occurred after this: the start of colored film, better definition, better colors, computer animations for backgrounds and
other effects, and now 3D, which is continuously getting more and
more popular this days thanks to its use in film, and because of the
new types of televisions and cameras that can show 3D images. People
like our grandparents and even our parents saw all these changes
along the years, so you can imagine how fast all this things were
perfected. The things that we take for granted today were a sensation
twenty years ago, and hopefully we will get to see more innovations
in the future.

So, what do you guys think? Did you guys like the movie, or notice how good the shades were and how great the definition was? I think it was a really good movie compared to
others of the same era :)

I think that the movie really portrayed what life was like back then in the dust bowl. I think that the older movies have better messages than the idiotic movies of our day. There are some amazing old time movies that I think are way better than the movies today. Even if they don't have the same technology as the movies of today.

I definately agree with what you said about the definition of the movie. I was suprised too. I didn't like the movie, personally, but I thought the clearity of the movie was amazing. Especially for that time.

"There are many options out there, but to standardize is to tell a lot of teachers to learn something new or unfamiliar... it's a tricky subject.  That's why I'd love to start my own school, powered by Edmodo, Ning, etc :)"

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
