Since we all just took the ACT and most of us have received our scores, I began to contemplate college life. Am I really going to be ready to leave home next year when I will be barely 18 years old?
Most of us think we are prepared for a 4-year college, but are we really? Many of us are used to the constant supervision by our parents and from experience I know that the second teenagers experience this type of freedom they use and abuse it. Instead of focusing on studying and school many collegiate freshmen focus on their party and social life, which can be detrimental to their learning and developing as a student.
Not only is that a factor in choosing a 4-year college or a 2-year college, but also there is a financial factor that can be put into place. Overall choosing a 2-year college for your Freshman and Sophomore years of college can save thousands of dollars in the long run and at the same time you are receiving the same education you would if you went to a 4-year college.
With all the different choices available, which path do you think you’ll take?
