Through history there have been numerous theories on when the world will end including the most recent, May 21, 2011. We’ve survived to the twenty-third, so what’s to say about this over the top 2012 business? Why does that particular day stand out from all the others, as the last day on earth? I figured I should try to find out.
Astrologically, December 21st is the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican calendar. Religiously, the date of which the 2012 phenomenon is seen repeated extensively in the torah and bible, all hidden in codes and patterns scientists have discovered. Also, Mayan calendars predict “the day of impending doom” and end abruptly on the day. All the signs point to an un-avoidable death right before Christmas, but no one has evidence to back the theory up. The apocalypse idea seems to be just that, an idea. One ancient scholar passed down his idea to another, and on it spread like wildfire, lasting all the way to the current generation. While no one knows how truly accurate that was.
So now I ask, what will you be doing on the “last day on earth?” Some will chose to spend it with their family, cherishing the last minutes, others off on spiritual journeys attempting to finish off their bucket lists while there’s time. Some strong believers may even chose to end their own life before the universe does it for them. And in the contrary, what will you be doing if you wake up on Dec. 22, alive as always. Take on a new outlook on life maybe? Let me know what you think about the 2012 phenomenon.

Comment by Ben Luke on May 24, 2011 at 3:39pm I never believed this because its all fake. The world is not going to end because one guy said so. If you start off with nothing and convince yourself that what you have is actually important, you will start believing that nothing is important.
I for one will wake up 12/22/12 and walk outside and laugh, like I did on May 22nd, 2011
