War. It is one hell of a big deal to our country not only in the past, but as well as the future. War is the constant topic that politicians and protesters talk about. You can't escape it! Even the most popular games out there have to do something with war! Take chess, risk, or even any videogame! Why are some of us entertained by warr? Others scared or against? America was born out of war, andd really has been involved with them for the longest time! I'm not advocating for world peace here, but you have got to question why is war a constant reoccurence? What makes it so great to the people who play the games, or why it is an option to solve our problems?

Humans to my belief are violent in nature. If our way of life or something we love is at risk by an opposing force we are so hastly to get into defensive mode and fight for it. Now that might not be the case for the past wars, but I just believe that it is in our nature. Now we all have learned about WWI and WWII, but honestly what have we leaned from them? Just that communism under a dictator can ead to very bad things that's what. If we have really leaned from the past wars why are we still in wars? It beats the hell out of me. However, my biggest fear would have to be the fact that WWIII is definetly a possibility. It's out there and it could be coming. To kids my age that could mean getting drafted in our lifetime. Many people believe the war could have started with the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008 as described here http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2008/08/georgia-latest/. Or when North Korea bombeed an island in South Korea. Many different people have different ideas and views how WWIII would start. For example, in this website here http://future.wikia.com/wiki/Scenario:_World_War_IIIthe person who wrote this gives in almost exact detail on how WWIII starts and plays out. War is also very present in entertainment today. Escpecially in videogames. Homefront is a brand new videogames that just came out, and might I add it is very controversal the games focus is. Homefront is about how north Koreans take over the Asain countries as well as the U.S. Not only is the focus controversal, but it tells how this all happens in a very detailed way. A timeline is shown at the beginning on how the takeover of the U.S. starts.

Although many people have their own opinions I question the coming of the next war. Is WWIII going to happen? Have we become too used to the idea of war? Or can we stop war from continuing? One way or another I believe war is inevitable and war.. War never changes.

I don't think WWIII will happen anytime soon, not at least with the technology we have at the moment. Our ability to kill has jumped incredibly for the last world war, excluding the atomic bomb. Modern warfare is so drastically different from WWII warfare. It used to be that you could see the whites of your enemy's eyes, but now you can take them out from miles away, while you sit nice any comfortable. WWIII will not be like any previous wars we've had before.

"War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines. War, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID tagged soldiers carry ID tagged weapons, use ID tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. War has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield, controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war... becomes routine."

With the rise of technology, and  humanms perfecting their systemic way of thinking, I'll most likely be saying those words again in my life time.

This honestly has inspired me to make another blog even though its not for a grade anymore. I feel that it will benefit...or rather prepare future American Studies students.

Also on Aly's comment we can change war but more people are just going to die, we have to kill each other because it make one side a definite winner at the end to the war.

I don't think that human can change because we don't understand our own brains yet so when it happens it happens. I just hope both sides can decide not to use weapons of mass destruction.

I honestly think it's a matter of time before World War III breaks out. There are so many countries fighting with another that it's inevitable. I disagree though when you say war never changes. Who says that we can't change how a war is fought? Why do we have to kill each other to show that we are more powerful than another? There has to be another way to settle this. War will always happen though because people don't always agree but that doesn't mean we can't change how we fight a war.

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
