Food we all LOVE it. All around the world there are all different kinds of restaurants serving a verity of yummy cuisine. But I am starting to think that in America that we aren’t appreciating how important it is and valuable it is. I see tons and tons of wasted food every day in the cafeteria and some people in the world could use it. I know during the Great Depression they were not wasting anything. Back then they were basically all trying to survive off of a loaf of bread. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound too appetizing to me. I dont think that they were having pie eating contests during that time.

Us as Americans are blessed with all of these different types of food from different places such as Panda Express, Chipotle, McDonalds, China Wok, Jimmy Johns , and Wendys. All mouth watering places but sorry to burst your bubble most of that food isn’t really healthy. I think that the portions of food and the grease that is in food is getting just really outrageous. I am pretty sure that other countries are making fun of the amount of fattening food that we consume. A lot of restaurants do not just give you one serving of food they give you eight on one plate, you do not need eight pounds of pasta. ( even though it might be delicious ) its not healthy. I think that we as Americans need to start really think about really appreciating food, because there are people out there who do not get 3 full meals a day.

GROSS!!! I dont even think that it is cooked all the way!! nasty

I don't even know what this is...

GROSSS!!!!

This is just upsetting to me...and nasty.

Did you know that you should have 3 to 5 servings of vegetables everyday? What do you think about Americas eating habits? Do you think that we are eating too much or too greasy? Do you think that we are wasteful when it comes to food? If so, what do you think that we can do to help that?

I've been noticing international opionions of American food a lot lately. While my exchange student was here, it was clear that she doesn't eat like us at all. Serving sizes are smaller, and food is not processed junk, well not all of it. Some Americans consider things like McDonald's to be a sufficient meal, but really there is nothing good in that food. I completely agree, we are eating way too much and it's way too greasy. We need to realize that healthy food can be just as delicious, and embrace that.

when i was yonger my parents would make me eat all the food i had on my plate until i could leave the dinner table. I hated it then but now it has become a very good habit!

In the beginning of the school year, Mr. Schaefer had asked our class what the general view of Americans was. The first thing the class came up with was "overweight". If we think of ourselves in this way, what do people all around the world think of us?

I love veggies and fruit. My mom raised me to have snacks that were fruit and veggies. I really dislike fast food or eating out at all. If you make your food you know exactly what is in it and I really like this. I love food and preparing it is even better.

As silly as it may sound to you, I get so frustrated whenever I hear about food eating contests. It's such a BIG waste of food! Now, if you're eating like a pig just because you're hungry, I guess that's different. But in food eating contests, I'm pretty sure that's not the case. It's typically to earn money or some other sort of prize. I agree with you and think it's selfish when people eat and eat until they win their money, while somewhere on the other side of the planet, someone is nosing through the trash for dinner.

I think fast food places are definitely the main reason for all of the obesity and health issues that we have today. Its just too easy to run to wendy's or taco bell while your out rather than going home and preparing a decent meal. Let's face it, americans are lazy.

Its really sad that the number two preventable cause of death in American is obesity, while in other counties they wage an everyday battle against malnutrition.

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
