Food we all LOVE it. All around the world there are all different kinds of restaurants serving a verity of yummy cuisine. But I am starting to think that in America that we aren’t appreciating how important it is and valuable it is. I see tons and tons of wasted food every day in the cafeteria and some people in the world could use it. I know during the Great Depression they were not wasting anything. Back then they were basically all trying to survive off of a loaf of bread. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound too appetizing to me. I dont think that they were having pie eating contests during that time.

Us as Americans are blessed with all of these different types of food from different places such as Panda Express, Chipotle, McDonalds, China Wok, Jimmy Johns , and Wendys. All mouth watering places but sorry to burst your bubble most of that food isn’t really healthy. I think that the portions of food and the grease that is in food is getting just really outrageous. I am pretty sure that other countries are making fun of the amount of fattening food that we consume. A lot of restaurants do not just give you one serving of food they give you eight on one plate, you do not need eight pounds of pasta. ( even though it might be delicious ) its not healthy. I think that we as Americans need to start really think about really appreciating food, because there are people out there who do not get 3 full meals a day.

GROSS!!! I dont even think that it is cooked all the way!! nasty

I don't even know what this is...

GROSSS!!!!

This is just upsetting to me...and nasty.

Did you know that you should have 3 to 5 servings of vegetables everyday? What do you think about Americas eating habits? Do you think that we are eating too much or too greasy? Do you think that we are wasteful when it comes to food? If so, what do you think that we can do to help that?

I definitely agree that Americas eating style is really disgusting. I mean, if you really think about there are so many people that eat fast food daily which is really unhealthy for you. Also, America does have one of the highest percentages for obesity. Thats just really gross.

If americans keep up their bad eating habits they will end up like the humans in Wall-E. Diabetes will become very popular among children and exponetially grow.

Yes Paige. I agree. We are very very blessed...and I know for a fact that other countries are making fun of us and our fattening food because when I went to France last year...my "family" that I stayed with made fun of the way we eat at the dinner table. They cooked dinner every single night with vegetables from their garden and wasted NOTHING!

People definitely waste a lot of food. Everyday at lunch I see kids throw away so much food. I grew up not having too much to eat so that has made me always finish my food. Like Paige said people need to appreciate food.

I think it is true that, the way America eats is disgusting, and that many of us in fact don't eat our vegetables. However, with all of these new products of low claories or high in fiber, they show what America can hopefully become in the future.

This is why America is the fattest country in the world. We just cant stop getting McDonalds, Wendys, and other fattening restaurants. Not going to lie, I probably had fast food for lunch this year atleast 2 or 3 times a week. Its fast, not too expensive, and good, but terrible for you. I also think the problem is that people dont stop eating when they get full, and the portions at restaurants are so huge that people are overeating and they dont even realize it or care. Also, the waste issue is huge. A great example of this is the show Man vs. Food. This guy attempts to eat ridiculous sized portions that could feed a small village and in almost every episode wastes half of the food hes given.

Those pictures tell more than a thousand words! I mean, seriously, no one can be hungry enough to eat that hamburger without suffering. I think americans eat a loot. Every time I go to some restaurant I need to ask for half of the entree, because i can't finish the whole plate by myself.

If americans keep eating like this, they are most likely to become obese or overweight. On top of that, people become lazy and dont exercise enough

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
