I'm sure that almost everyone knows by now that race profiling is bad. Just because someone is from another country or has a slightly different shade of skin from you doesn't make them any better or worse. I'm also confident in the fact that most everyone has gotten over sexism girls are equal to guys and vise versa. So why then is there still so much profiling against teenagers. I'm not just talking about the blue hares at Palatine Historical society or that old woman at the checkout counter. I'm talking about people that you'd think would be more tolerant like teachers or even the police.
Has anyone noticed that about three out of the five days of the week theres a cop speed trapping on Illinois Road or Quentin Road? I have. They know exactly when school gets out and like a vicious cat outside a mouse hole they wait. Now, I'm not trying to say that the police are bad. As a matter of fact I support them and am glad that there are men and women keeping us safe and making sure people aren't Idiots on the road. What I am saying though is that the fact that they choose to do things like hide next to the school when it gets out is absurd. Especially when they could instead be enforcing laws to try and keep the streets safe from speed demons doing eighty to work every morning. *Cough*Palmer*Cough*

Does anyone else think that Police age profiling is something that needs to be taken care of?

Where elce have you seen age profileing?

Teens and younger people are just not adults yet and will never be treated like adults because we dont act like them!!! I bet u when ur out with ur friends u act like a goof all the time!! right??? u cant be serious all the time!!! but when a waitress doesnt serve ur table maybe its because ur all loud as hell and dont use ur indoor resteraint voices!!!! Age profiling is weird because i would be walking home from school in the winter with darker clothes on and its obviously darker oustide! im waling and a cop stops me and body searches me1!!!!??? what??? dont touch me!! i was just at schol!!!! he said that there have been younger people breaking into cars and saw that i looked suspicous!! But thats a good thing because if the cops do stop every suspicious looking person then we would be fine!! Right???

The reason people are so skeptical of teenagers is because we allow them. If you think about it, how many of us are truly mature enough to be taken seriously? Now I agree that a good number of us should be treated with respect; however, all the idiots out there ruin are stereotype by being idiots and immature. 1/3 of us might be great but we have the other 2/3 interfering with adults point of view.

I think that the actions of some kids have ruined it for everyone else. People need to understand that not all kids are like that.

not only have I been age profiled, but I have been "stereotype" profiled. I was in a store, I can't remember which one, but every two seconds a worker would come up and ask if I needed help with anything...ummm, hello, not all kids our age/this "stereotype"-thing shoplift/do childish things.

I think that a lot of the age steroyping comes from a teenagers rebellious attitude and need to be independent, which it seems most adults have forgotten from their own teenage years.

Okay/ I do think that some people are less tolerant of teenagers, but I don't know if I agree with this whole police thing. The cop sits outside to direct the traffic to make sure people aren't rude and actually let the high schoolers get out of the parking lot. He's not trying to get us all in trouble and he's not out to get us, he just wants to make sure there isn't crazy, hectic madness after school. He wants everyone to get out safe. The police aren't only after us, because adults get tickets too. You break the law you pay the price.

I have seen age profileing in many places like when you go out to dinner with teenagers and the waitress/waiter just doesn't seem to care about your table.

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
