You be a good kid. While they don't have to.

Whatever it is that you want to be when you graduate college, you basically have the same set of rules as everyone else. Be a good kid and earn good grades! You learned in kindergarten to play nice and don't talk, if you don't have anything nice to say. Since you've created  your Facebook account, you've been…

Gingers: Why so much hate?

When does a joke turn into prejudiced and eventually racism? I wouldn't say that America is on the verge of a ginger-genocide, but the jokes have increased in the last few years. I think of a Ginger as anyone who has red hair.  Ginger is defined by the Urban Dictionary as, "A human, characterized by pale skin, freckles and bright red hair.

"Gingers" are generally considered to be inferior to their more

melanin-rich brethren, and thus deservingly discriminated…

Frivolous Litigation: the Hottest New Legal Trend?

A former Houston ambulance driver stops for doughnuts while delivering a youth to the hospital; the youth's mother complains and the driver sues the city for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

A Staten Island girl falls into an open manhole while texting; girl's family intends to sue city.

These may sound silly to you and me, but what's the worst part about them? They're completely true. Apparently common sense didn't kick in for the (thankfully)…

Helping End Hunger in America?

I was talking to my sister’s friend the other day and in her business management course at University of Alabama they started discussing these things called Non-Profit Paneras in St. Louis, where their motto is “take what you need, pay what you can.” This really got me thinking about if these restaurants were a good idea and if it would actually work.

These Panera Bread restaurants… Continue

Striving for Perfection

Everyone strives for perfection. The problem is today's society and their idea of perfection. Teenagers' constant obsessions to look like the girls on the cover of magazines or to act just like the characters in the movies manipulates teenagers into thinking that they need to change themselves in order to be like them. In reality, there is no such thing as perfect. Most of the men and women on those magazines have been photo shopped, creating false ideas and…

Technology: Our Generation's Phenomenon.

The invention of the telephone sparked an era of new technology, and new ways of communicating. First with the telegraph. Then the telephone. Then cellphones, texting, Facebook, twitter, Skype,…

Christmas has lost its true meaning.

When people think of Christmas now a days its all about the presents. Parents are always asking their kids what do you want for Christmas then going and buying them what they want. This is basically teaching the kids that Christmas is like a second birthday, they tell their parents what they want and they get it for doing nothing. After we read the story gifts in Mr. Schaefer's class it made me realize how much people are obsessed about giving the right gifts to their kids.

I think that… Continue

Should Team Logos Be Copyrighted?

As I was eating breakfast this past week, I saw an article about high school football. So, I picked it up and started reading, only to find out that it wasn't about football itself. The article was explaining how colleges all around the country are cracking down on other high schools and youth programs for using their logos. Even though this is happening all around the country, since it is a local newspaper, the schools will be very familiar to students at Fremd. The main situation was that… Continue

"There are many options out there, but to standardize is to tell a lot of teachers to learn something new or unfamiliar... it's a tricky subject.  That's why I'd love to start my own school, powered by Edmodo, Ning, etc :)"

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
