VeriChip...

I am a big fan of technology. Technology allows the world to do more than what we could have done years ago. For example, the Internet enables us to learn and share ideas with the world. As each day passes, our technology has been advancing and opening up more doors for us, whether it’s good or bad. Moreover,…

Young Again

Dr. Heidegger's Experiment by Nathaniel Hawthorne introduces the idea of the Fountain of Youth. Mr. Medbourne, Colonel Killigrew, and Mr. Gascoigne, and Widow Wycherly, all a part of the experiment, chose to make the same mistakes after drinking the youthful water. All four people got to chose how they wanted to spend their short youthful moment. They chose to make the same mistakes and waste their precious time. If I was 80ish and got a… Continue

Our Difference Throughout History

The Salem witch trials accused innocent people as witches. The people accused were known to be different and because of their difference they were targeted. The Salem Witch Trials started as rumors and ended with many innocent deaths. The foundation of the trials were because of the difference between the accusers and accused.

Today high schools and junior highs are in a way very similar to the Salem witch trials. In some cases, teens start rumors against the people… Continue

Hey, Haena --

Happy Birthday.

Haena -- I see hyperlinks to the videos, but it would be better if you had the actual videos there so a reader doesn't have to click away from your post in order to view them.

Here's how to do that:  Be sure you are in the HTML Editor tab of the blog window, not the Visual Mode tab.  Then paste the Embed code from Youtube where you want the video to appear.  When you submit it, the video should then show up fine.  HTML and Embed are the key things to remember when adding videos or widgets.

I like the blog topic, and I'm eager to get it posted.  Work with those videos, and then please let me know when you're ready for me to take another look.

The book Huckleberry Finn is on the list, so it doesn't need to be an "other thing."  Sound good?

Part II of the final exam is one essay, but you will probably organize it so that it has two major sections within it.  Please let me know if you have more questions.

Good question, Haena.  The "Nature of Truth" concept is the idea that at different points in history, Americans (and others) tended to view the world very differently from at other times.  For example, the puritans viewed the world differently from the classicists; the transcendentalists viewed the world differently perhaps than we view the world today.  They can't all be correct, or can they?  What does this say about "truth"?

Margin notes are a good idea, but I'm not counting a grade on it. You just need to be familiar with the main ideas so that when we discuss you know what we're talking about.

Enjoy your weekend!

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
