When did my laugh turn into a LOL?
Ever since phone companies created the "Cell Phone" people and their language have changed dramatically. Since we had the ability to text, words(if you can call them that) like "LOL" "JK" or "BRB" have become a common use in the vocabulary of youth today. Pollution, have we improved?
In class we have been discussing quite a lot of things like immigration, urbanization and such. Well one thing that really goes along with both of those ideas is the subject of pollution. We learned that the city life, sanitation, and Pollution was quite the problem during the 1800-1900's immigration in New York City. Smiley face story.
I had an interesting smiley face story today. I was waiting for school to start and I realized I had two smiley's left in my bag. So I surveyed the hallway in search for the most eligible receiver of the smiley. Just then I spotted a young freshman who have a look of fear on his face. Although he was raised Presbyterian, he was very disillusioned by all the bad things that were done in the name of religion all over the world, especially by Christians. He wrote at length about the hypocrisy he witnessed. In fact, his daughter, Clara, even suppressed the publication of some of his writing until after her death. Sam and Livy were both raised in church, but both alternately questioned and believed in a deity. Most scholars believe he was a 'free thinker' like many of the founding fathers. Only Twain has the real answer. :)
