Katie Hughes commented on Jack Andersen's blog post Weddings...Always Serious?
"I was a little shocked by the lack of emotion for the royal wedding but that's how it's been for centuries so I can understand. But I believe wedding should be a joyous affair, and the bride and groom should be required to smile."

Lauren Olson commented on Jack Andersen's blog post Weddings...Always Serious?
"Weddings should be a celebration. The royal wedding was to rehearsed for my liking. I feel that you should be happy with your decision to spend the rest of your life with that person."

Darby Douglas commented on Jack Andersen's blog post Weddings...Always Serious?
"That is one happy bridal party! Everyone's got a smile.  But I think the mood of the ceremony has to do with the bride and groom. I'm sure Will and Kate were just happy with following in their royal family's traditions. And in…"

Weddings...Always Serious?

After hearing all of the buzz about the Royal Wedding and even seeing some clips from it, it leaves me with one question. Do all weddings have to be as serious and stone-faced as that one was. The only time that I ever saw a large amount of people smiling was when the couple made the grand exit out of the church and saw all of people in attendance. I do not have first hand experience of being a groom...but it seems to me that you would want it to be happy and funny and the best day…See More

Billie Holiday : "Strange Fruit"

"These lyrics are weird, but also very accurate. The lynching unit was creepy but yet interesting because we were able to see how messed up people were a long time ago."

Jack Andersen commented on Rachel Izydorek's blog post Loser Like Me
"I agree with Whitney. If you can find that core group of friends, it will be very helpful throughout your high school experience and down the road. Many people also branch out and hang out with others. But the core group is the biggest part."

Jack Andersen commented on Halle Gitelson's blog post Reality TV all real?
"I believe that it is for sure a mix of both. The directors purposely have one character do something to someone that is all planned out, but then they want to see the other person's real reaction."

Jack Andersen commented on Connor Bieda's blog post Aluminum or Wood?
"I think they should make wood bats mandatory in college. Aluminum is fine in high school and all that but when you're going to play in the MLB you should get used to swinging a wood bat throughout your college career."

Jack Andersen commented on Michael Weber's blog post Angry Birds is Helping You?
"I love/hate this game. When I beat a level it's always nice. But when I can't beat a level after multiple attempts I get really "angry." I do understand how it keeps the brain moving though."

How Much ACT prep is too much?

With the school year winding down, and the opportunity of time to take the ACT shortening, I've been trying to answer one question. Is the ACT really going to dictate your future? I feel like the administration is trying to persuade high school students that the only way we are ever going to get into the college that we have in mind is if we do significantly well on the ACT. In fact, at Illinois State University, the average ACT score is only a 22 for incoming freshman this past year. This…

Should Team Logos Be Copyrighted?

As I was eating breakfast this past week, I saw an article about high school football. So, I picked it up and started reading, only to find out that it wasn't about football itself. The article was explaining how colleges all around the country are cracking down on other high schools and youth programs for using their logos. Even though this is happening all around the country, since it is a local newspaper, the schools will be very familiar to students at Fremd. The main situation was that… Continue

"The Decision." Don't we have other things to worry about?

I am a huge sports fan. I follow most of the sports today and I watch ESPN on TV quite frequently. In sports, the off-season takes a huge part in whether or not your team will have a successful season the next year. Some of you, if not most, may have heard about LeBron James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers this past summer. James was considering playing for 6 teams in the NBA; New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls. LeBron James… Continue

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
