Future

We are at the age now where the most common question you are asked by relatives and family friends is "What do you want to be/do after college." For me, I have always known that I wanted to some thing in health care. For a while I wanted to be a nurse then a physical therapist and so on. My sister on the other hand, has taken one class in just about every major offered at her school.

Moment of Silence

The moment of silence is known to me as paying respect to those who have passed and those who fight for our country. We started having a moment of silence last year for about half the year but then the courts ruled it as part of a prayer and as we know talking about or pushing religious beliefs in school is not allowed.

Politics is all about who can fool the public.

I have noticed in our recent elections that during the campaigning not only does the ugliness of each of our candidates come out but it also shows the characters of those who post the horrendous commercials. I know that since their foes put up horrible message some may feel as though they need to do the same, but why are our elections based on who has made the least mistakes in their past? Why does their past have any thing to do with our future except maybe they are more knowledgeable and well… Continue

White Picket Fence Anyone?

Ah, the American Dream. The dictionary definition is "n. the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity traditionally held to be available to every American." Traditionally is the word that caught my eye there. Are all American dreams traditional? I wouldn't say so any more. Many women still view the American dream as growing up, getting married, moving into a beautiful house with a white picket fence and having a few kids while their husband works, but not all women.

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
