What is creation?

Blossoming from Charles Darwin and his theory of Evolution, the meaning and significance of existence has always been a question that leads to more questions. How does one respond when asked, "what do you live for?" There's a thousand different ways you can handle that. But what is a misconception with Darwin's work is that he discovered that a seed can transform, but it cannot produce itself. When his paper entitled, "The Origin of Species" came out, people said he killed God. But quite the…See More

a twenty-four hour life

Sometimes, life throws a wrench into your engine, just to see what happens. And it comes out in sickness, breakup, confusion, and in death. Too many times folk just don't seem to give a consistent effort into making their life worth it. They give what is expected of them, what they believe they have to do, not what they are capable of.

This last Tuesday, I woke up to a unsettled stomach and thought nothing of it really. Trying avoid breakfast, I rolled…

Solitary Confinement is More than Just a "time-out" for Grown-Ups

Today, over 80,000 Americans are in solitary confinement for reasons spread across from attacking officers to extreme serial killing. These people are put in rooms no bigger than a handicapped stall in a bathroom. A bed, a toilet, and a sliding slot on the door is what these inmate's lives mostly revolve around. They get three meals a day through their slot, three timed showers a week, and a hour of "exercise" time a day.…

Dirty Jobs? Try Photojournalist

If the word "Photojournalist" is spoken, not too many people can easily connect to such a profession. While a profession like a "rapper" or a "designer" is a bit more common and known, a job like "photojournalism" is not highlighted so much. This is mainly because of the gruesome and sometimes dreadful images that one produces. Take American war and injustice photographer, James Nachwey. He was born in Massachusetts, and while seeing… Continue

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
