Favorite thing about American Studies
Seems fun, but hopefully it isn't like RISE. :]
I like how we use the history context in English. I like how we connect English to History because it's a lot easier to remember.
What are you?
Student
What are you reading for fun?
I've just recently finished the last book of the Harry Potter series. It was flipping amazing.

Humor is taking a STAND!!!

To be honest, I had no clue what to write for this blog. I felt that a lot of you guys had a lot of great ideas. My sisters and I were talking about ideas for what I could write. Then she was talking about how her AP Language and Composition had a great topic about comedians poking fun at political ideas to make a point. I think writers and comedians do a great example of showing their humor to make a strong statement on controversial…

America's Entertainment

The last few weeks we've learned about immigration. And immigration plays a big role in my life and I think for all Americans, too. America wouldn't be what it is today without immigrants. :] And I find it so awesome how America is the country with the most mix ethnics! You would think that America would have more diversity in the entertainment industry, but unfortunately most celebrities are Caucasian. When we do see other races in the big camera, it's usually a…

SLAVERY STILL EXISTS!!!

I watched the movie, Amazing Grace. It's one of the best historical movies. Ioan Gruffold does an amazing portrayal of William Wilberforce in the movie. The one thing that shocked me is that a Caucasian man wrote, Amazing Grace. I really believed that a black man wrote it because it talks about freedom. The song was written by John Newton, a captain of a slave ship turned to priest. The movie also helped me understand the true meaning of Amazing Grace.

What he fought for:… Continue

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
