Aricela Marquez commented on Michael Weber's blog post Should Finals be Important?
"Honestly Finals are a pain. I personally would be happier if we didn't simply because it would cause less stress and we have already been tested on the subject why should we be tested on them again? That I just do not understand."

Where There is Black&White There is Gray, Not Just Your GPA

As years continue and with life right ahead of us our priorities tend to shift in different directions. It is drilled into our minds that receiving an education, working towards a promised career, and settling down then leading into creating a family are the main priorities in life. We seem to forget the decision is up to us if they stay in that order or even take place. With teen pregnancy rising, changes in family statuses, and our economic system falling apart there is no question as…See More

Mind Over Age or Age Over Mind?

In today’s world age requirements and limits are becoming more difficult to set and follow. Of course we have the basics: Driving age=16, Age of consent (in Illinois) =17, Smoking age=18 and Drinking age=21. We have these because we believe when anyone has met the set age for each privilege they are capable of taking in the responsibility that is needed for it. But are these requirements correctly chosen for the future? As time goes on the mind set of children, teens, and adults are changing…

Money or Passion?

Junior year is the time in our high school career where we have to start getting serious about our future. With ACT's and college applications around the corner the life choice of our future occupations can no longer be delayed. But what exactly is the right choice? Money or Passion? In our world today money has become everything. Without money there is no chance in living a life wanted to be lived. Considering the sad fact that economic stability is very difficult to achieve the want for…

Guilty to the Charge of History

As Teens we all have secrets and a history... or should I say OUR history. They say it is best to learn young because our minds are like sponges. I couldn't agree more. Every day we wake up and create a person that media or simply our surroundings say is "Presentable." For boys it's being the most athletic, having the best luck with girls, or even just having the best way of making others laugh. As girls we try to wear the best of the best clothes and… Continue

"There are many options out there, but to standardize is to tell a lot of teachers to learn something new or unfamiliar... it's a tricky subject.  That's why I'd love to start my own school, powered by Edmodo, Ning, etc :)"

9/11 Skylines and Turnstiles

I'm not usually someone who writes a lot , not publicly anyway but I do love to express my self through art, usually visual art but most of the time the art I make is influenced by something . In this case it's a song a written by one of my favorite musicians as a response to the feeling of horror and disbelief as he watched the Twin Towers in New York go from icons to ruins on 9/11/01. The song is sad,…See More
