I think it's great to take a look back and see one of the world's most influential magazine's debut cover. it makes you realize how far they've come since 1974 and how far they will keep going.

After I clicked on this link, I went and got my current issue of people and it was really interesting to compare and contrast. The layouts of the covers have changed the most, and the price.

This is so cool! I feel like while looking at this, you can see that through out time, we stil see beauty within the same aspects. This lady is gorgeous and her look is timeless, if i saw this cover today i would think nothing of it, a 2010 magazine cover.

This is great. 35 years and not a thing has changed. People still want to read about this, so the magazine keeps giving the people what they want.

hahahaha people is still the same. always an attractive celebrity on the cover and always about gossip. its amazing how people back then and the people of this time now still think the same way. but hey, if its not broken, dont fix it.

I think its funny how little People Magazine has changed over the years. They still have a picture of a celebrity on the front and it still a tabloid magazine. Although I'm pretty sure there wasn't as many paparazi back then.

I love that the magazines back then were all about gossip too. She looks truely beautiful though. The picture doesnt look touched up and she doesnt have a ton of make up on. This is natural and beautiful. I wish our magazines were still like this today. Things have changed so much in just 40 years.

i think this in an amazing cover and peoples magazine has keptits standards. i throughly enjoy reading the peoples magazine. the cover looks absoulutely stunning. gotta love the white.  they have come a long way since 1947. i cant believe that it costed only 35 cents !

I think it's rather inspiring to see how far along our society has come today. Comparing this magazine to the people magazine we're used to reading can really show us how far we've come in just the last 40 years. Just think about how another 40 years will completely change the society we're living in now! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us and I thinks it's amazing that everyday we're advancing technology without even being aware that we are!
